Vedanta set up Computer Labs Benefitting more than 3000 Students

Vedanta inaugurated two computer labs in Sarvodaya High School in Usgaon and Vividha Higher secondary school at Navelim. With the inauguration of these two Computer Labs, Vedanta has now 13 Computer Centers running in Goa. More than 3000 students have benefitted from this program till date in Goa.

The Computer Lab facility is intended to hugely benefit the students as well as the teachers of both the schools by providing both a unique and very useful opportunity to undergo computer-based E-learning. The students will not only learn the basics of computer operations but also would be able to empower themselves for possible careers in this extremely lucrative and employment positive arena.

Computer Labs in Schools will provide long-term benefits to the students of the villages. Computer education will also hone the skills of students.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Sauvick Mazumdar, CEO, Vedanta Sesa Goa Iron Ore Business, said, “Vedanta, as a corporate strongly emphasises on sustainability and community development as these two are the integral part of our business philosophy. Education plays an important role in Socio-Economic development of a community/ society. Thus, education drives our CSR interventions at a very large scale.”

For the Usgaon lab launch, present on the occasion were Mr Narendra Sawikar, Ex Member of Parliament, South Goa, Mr Tushar Usgaonkar, Chairman, Higher Secondary School, Girish Usgaonkar, Secretary, Higher Secondary School along with the Lab Sarpanch and Deputy Sarpanch of the village.
