A day dedicated to Yamaha since its inception in the year 1955
Yamaha Motor India celebrated the 64th anniversary of the Yamaha Motor Company Ltd. across its offices, plant locations and dealerships in India on June 30 and July 1st. The celebration called as “Yamaha Day” is held on July 1st every year globally with an aim to induce a deeper connection with the brand among the employees and increase their understanding about the Brand’s journey, the milestones achieved and future goals.
The festivities were held at Yamaha HO in Chennai, plant locations in Chennai, Surajpur & Faridabad as well as area offices and pan-India dealerships.
This year, YMIG celebrated the anniversary by organizing a “Yamaha Day Factory Picnic” for the employees and their family members on June 30th at its three plant locations – Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Surajpur (Uttar Pradesh) and Faridabad (Haryana). On this special occasion, various activities were organized for the employees and their family members which included Safety Riding & Skill Riding Activity along with a short factory tour to help them witness the state-of-the-art infrastructure and understand the manufacturing processes being followed in the motorcycle/scooter production.
Along with this, special zones were created to give the employees and their family members an inimitable experience. The Experience Zone displayed Yamaha’s current product line-up, Music Zone exhibited Yamaha’s music products, Kids & Family Engagement Zone hosted various games, Tech Zone focused on creating awareness on latest technology and Yamaha’s Apparel & Merchandise were put on sale at a discounted price.
Speaking on the occasion, Motofumi Shitara, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group said, “Yamaha is excited to announce its 64th year in the two-wheeler industry. The company has grown from strength to strength in these years since its inception. Yamaha is committed to offer unique experiences to its customers through its exceptional products services in India and across the globe. We will continue to the rev their hearts by introducing products which carries Yamaha’s DNA which is Exciting, Sporty and Stylish.” The celebrations continued on July 1st as well at all the locations with the senior management address, cake cutting ceremony and unique photo activity which represented the core values of the brand. The employees at the head office, all the plant locations and area offices formed a human chain to represent “The Unique Style of Yamaha” structure. The formation showcased the unity of the employees and their commitment to providing an enriching experience to the customers in India.
On this day in the year 1955, Yamaha Motor Company in Japan began the production of its first product, the 125cc motorcycle “YA-1”.
