In what promises to be an exciting event for children this Christmas, Greenwood High Grade 7 student Arnay Agarwal is hosting a virtual story-telling session along with a Christmas concert through Storytelling Society of India (STS India) on December 23, 5 pm onwards. The event, open to all, will involve a lot of learning and is being organized for children by children and will be fun as it offers a good break from the pandemic.
Along with Arnay, other children who are part of the event include Sia, Aditi and Atharv who will narrate and tell stories, Srenish will perform on the tabla and Ayensh who will sing. Arnay will be the host for the event as well as perform various activities. The event will also feature online games, tree decoration, creating Christmas art and craft, drawing competition and Chorus singing amongst others. A Christmas party will also be organized the same evening.
Commenting on the event, 12-year-old Arnay Agarwal, said: “There are many online events happening these days. I wanted to do something special for everyone. Our upcoming event is going to be huge and several children have already registered for the event. I am glad that I am able to provide a platform to children and parents to showcase the talent and promote an age-old but diminishing tradition of storytelling to a new and interesting level.”
Children from India, US, Nepal, UK, Japan have joined STS India which conducts various out of the box activities at regular intervals. After the virtual event, the students plan to do live ticketed sessions in future at different locations and some free sessions in public parks too and give children opportunities for storytelling on a bigger platform. They will expand the program to include senior citizens too.
