Vedanta Iron Ore Distributes Medical Kits and Emergency Facilities

250 Personal Protective kits, 5,000 hand gloves to the Chitradurga District Police; 100 masks along with sanitizer bottles to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) – Chitradurga and 150 cotton masks to the Department of Mines & Geology (DMG) Chitradurga District were provided.

In line with Vedanta philosophy of care and community welfare, Vedanta Ltd – Iron Ore Karnataka Business handed over 10 ICU cots and 10 Multi- Para Monitor to the District Administration to get these units installed at the COVID – 19 Relief District Hospital. These 20 ICU Units were hand-delivered to the District Administration Committee by Vedanta for better preparedness during the pandemic. 

These 20 ICU units will be installed in the COVID – 19 Relief District Hospital at the earliest. The company has set up the ICU units to provide relief to the vulnerable and most needy sections of society, who have been harshly impacted by the pandemic if need be.

We have today handed over these ICU units to the District Administration to be well prepared to combat the deadly Coronavirus. Vedanta has initiated several on-ground support activities to overcome this difficult situation. Recently, Vedanta Ltd – Iron Ore Karnataka Business has provided 250 Personal Protective kits and 5,000 hand gloves to the Chitradurga District Police, 100 masks along with sanitizer bottles to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) – Chitradurga and 150 cotton masks to the Department of Mines & Geology (DMG) Chitradurga District.  Previously, the company has provided 500 sanitiser bottles, 2500 triple layer N95 masks, 500 personal protection kits and an ambulance for emergency medical facilities to the District Collector’s office.

They have also handed over 3400 ration kits to the District Administration Office to help them be well prepared in the current situation. Besides this, Vedanta Iron Ore Karnataka distributed 2600 three layered cloth masks to police officers, health workers and the community people across Chitradurga district handmade by local SHG women over the course of two weeks.

Vedanta has planned certain initiatives which will support the nationwide fight against COVID -19 pandemic. Implementation of most of the initiatives are already initiated at Goa, Karnataka and Jharkhand respectively.
